Project Reports: UH Mechanical Engineering

Linked below are some of the projects I worked on during my time at the University of Houston The first linked project is my senior capstone project (still in progress). This next project report is from the class Design of Machine Elements. We were tasked with designing a device which will use a manual input from a single hand to move ping pong balls from a specified starting region into a specified final container without the use of electronics.  The device needed to employ at least two of the following components: shafts, screws, gears, springs, rolling bearings, transmission belts, and friction/press fit. This next project was for Finite Element Analysis in which I was tasked with following a set of tasks to complete an FEA of a beam using the software ABAQUS. The next report is an analysis of a solution for a subsea exploration vehicle. This final report is from the Design-Build-Test Project for the class Mechanical Design.

Intro/Cover Letter

Dear Hiring Committee, My name is Nawaf Abulhaija and I am set to graduate in about a month, May 2024, with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering. I have always been fascinated by space exploration due to the limitless possibilities and the direct impact on the future of humankind. Working for a company in the aerospace industry that is on the edge of innovation is the reason I welcome an opportunity to incorporate my knowledge and skills to the team. I am confident in my ability to contribute as a mechanical engineer with my technical knowledge, leadership experience, interpersonal skills, and an undying eagerness to learn. As a motivated problem solver and diligent learner, I have developed proficiency in the areas of mechanical design and analysis. During my time working on the Capstone Project, I successfully led a team of 3 mechanical engineering students to design a small-scale and cost-effective remote-controlled garden seeder with plow and sow capabiliti...
